additions: stop flippantly investing in equity without understanding the mechanics of its movement, cook at home instead of eating out every night, get a sugar mama (oh wait, you already have!). food/entertainment is by far the biggest expense (besides rent), i think you underestimated how much you spend on it. since you wanted to go on a diet, you could just stop eating.

what are you plans for your IRA? money market?

Don’t idolize individuals, admire what they do. Most of the nicest, most interesting people I’ve met, and from whom I’ve learned most, are from humble backgrounds and don’t need a yacht party to live it up. To put it frankly, you’re on these guys’ dicks, and you have more faith in their aura than in your own brilliance.

I completely relate with this sentiment. Some of the perks of working at Yahoo are that I got to meet Douglas Crockford, and had a brief conversation with David Filo while we were waiting for our sandwiches in Url’s.
