Diddy’s new CD…

Is TERRIBLE. It is the worst CD I have bought in the last 2 years. Alpha Launch of Monvia's first product this Thursday, so we're working like crazy to get everything perfect. My schedule will be freed up to blog more next week.

Scrybe

Scrybe. It seems like everybody (Scoble = blogosphere buzz) is talking about this new app, even though it hasn't come out. I must admit, I can't wait to get to try it out.

One thing I noticed while watching the demo video is that Scrybe is 100% IN FLASH. Yep. And it looks like Scrybe is going to be the most powerful personal organizer ever created. Oh yeah, it's not in Ruby on Rails either ! Flash has evolved so much since I began using it with Flash 6. Companies are starting to see it's potential, and tapping in to the power of ActionScript.

Adobe's acquisition of Macromedia was a genius move (even though I still hate them). Adobe has literally cornered the commercial market for the internet. Aside from Open Source programs, I don't know any good web developer that doesn't use Adobe products for their work. And yes, I'm saying that everyone that uses MS FrontPage is a terrible developer (don't ever come looking for a job from me if you use that program).

New site for Okapi is coming out very soon, working hard on that and some other projects.

Put this quote in a movie

You know me, I always want things yesterday. Things haven't changed.

Just average

Average -- lacking special distinction, rank, or status; commonly encountered.

I don't want to be average. I DON'T WANT TO BE AVERAGE. I DON'T WANT TO BE AVERAGE. I CAN'T BE AVERAGE. It's not an option.

How do these "average" people live with themselves ?? What is the point of existence if you can't rise above everybody else ? If you take ambition out of the equation, then what drives you to even live ? It doesn't even make sense to me how someone could settle for being average. Oh well. Must work for the majority of people though.

I haven't had a long post for a while, doing a lot of work for Monvia right now. I will be down in Mt View tomorrow and Friday, and coming home for Wood's Homecoming and CAILEY (!) on Friday !!! Looking forward to the rest of this week...

Atlas Shrugged quote

So far this book is insane. But this is my favorite quote by FAR... EVER. Francisco d'Anconia's monologue about money being the root of all good

Money will not purchase happiness for the man who has no concept of what he wants: money will not give him a code of values, if he's evaded the knowledge of what to value, and it will not provide him with a purpose, if he's evaded the choice of what to seek. Money will not buy intelligence for the fool, or admiration for the coward, or respect for the incompetent. The man who attempts to purchase the brains of his superiors to serve him, with his money replacing his judgement, ends up by becoming the victim of his inferiors. The men of intelligence desert him, but the cheats and the frauds come flocking to him, drawn by a law which he has not discovered: that no man may be smaller than his money. Is this why you call it evil ?

Today’s word of advice

I went to lunch today with Mani and Ashish in downtown Mt View, and while talking about business, Ashish gave a great quote... Apparently from one of his professors at SCU.

The farther and farther you move away from a keyboard, the more and more money you're going to make.

Great stuff Ashish... I won't forget that.

Bits are bits… Unless they’re wireless ?

Ok, I'm not understanding this... Are you still transferring "bits" when sending data over a wireless network ? If so, then why would Verizon and the big telcos need to lay down a whole new set of pipes for a faster internet ? Why can't they just build some gingantic wireless data centers that can send requested data to a large satellite that can wirelessly send the data back to the end user. Not only would this be much faster for the telcos to do, but it would be soo much smarter for our future. In the future, we're going to have to have like T5000 lines in our homes, with transfer rates of at least 8mbps. Hopefully 16mbps. If the telcos set up a wireless infrastructure, wouldn't upgrading technology on top of that be easier ?

My advice for the day: avoid physical infrastructure at all cost.

Firefox 2 crashing !

Shoot, it's starting to remind me of... IE !!! It's crashed 4 times today since I installed it. The problem appears to be when I hit ctrl+t to open up a new tab; it just freezes and I have to end the process. Bleh ! I'll just wait for the real FF2 release comes out and keep using this... er... Microsofty version of it lol

:D
